Interview with Kickstarter CEO, Everette Taylor
The Funding Insider Team had the honor of meeting with Kickstarter CEO, Everette Taylor, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Taylor has been the CEO of Kickstarter since September 2022 and has a history of entrepreneurship, including founding his own startups in the fields of tech and social entrepreneurship.
In our interview with Taylor, we were able to gleam meaningful insights on the role of agencies, crowdfunding in Korea and East Asia, and receive some personal advice from Taylor himself for startups doing business in America:
On The Role of Agencies
“The agency piece is such a critical part of crowdfunding now. And to give that support. It’s not just about having a great idea, it’s about having the infrastructure, the support and the expertise to have an actual successful campaign. Only a little over 50% of campaigns are successful on Kickstarter. And a lot of the most successful campaigns are the campaigns that are utilizing agencies like you guys.”
On Crowdfunding in East Asia
“I appreciate what you all are doing, especially in that market. It’s a market that we want to grow, to increase. We’ve seen a lot of impact in Shenzhen and China and things like that. And I think there’s so much potential in Korea. So, you guys are doing great things in that market. Thank you guys.”
A Message for All Creatives
“This is Everette Taylor, CEO of Kickstarter. I’m with Funding Insider, one of the best agencies in the game. I just want to shout out every entrepreneur, small business owner, creator, innovator, inventor. This is America. There are ups and downs, there’s trials and tribulations. It’s not always easy. But continue to push through, continue to fight hard and continue to fight for what you believe in. I’m inspired by you all and I’m grateful for you all and I hope to see you guys on Kickstarter. Thank you guys.”
